SampleLQ is a sampling plan calculator for LQAS surveys. It implements the algorithms presented in:

Valadez JJ, Assessing child survival programs in developing countries: testing lot quality assurance sampling, Harvard University Press, Boston, 1991

SampleLQ is a 32-bit Microsoft Windows application and will run under Microsoft Windows '95, '98, and NT 3.51 or later.

The downloaded file will be called LQSetup.exe. This file is a self-extracting installer.

Spanish speaking users might like to replace the existing help file with a Spanish version. Click here to download the Spanish help file and then copy this file over the existing file called SampleLQ.hlp. This help file was kindly supplied by Juan Carlos Vivar.

A simplified version of the SampleLQ program, developed for prevalence surveys, is available here.

SampleLQ uses the binomial distribution to derive sampling plans. A web-based sampling plan calculator using the hypergeometric distribution is available here (you must have JAVA enabled to use this calculator).
